Intermediate Throwing Series

This 3 part throwing series is geared towards high-lvl beginner to intermediate potters looking to level up their throwing game and get more consistent results. Sign up for the complete series, or choose your sessions a la carte. 

Wed. 3/11 6:00-8:00p Part 1: Coning & Mid-Throw Correction 

• In part 1, we will address any centering issues, learn how to cone up and down with up to 5 pounds of clay, and learn how to correct unevenness in pots mid throw.

Wed. 3/18 6:00-8:00p Part 2: Efficient Pulling & Pulling Tall Forms 

• In part 2, we will explore pulling positioning, dial in our wheel-to-hand speed, and practice techniques for pulling tall even forms 

Wed. 3/25 6:00-8:00p Part 3: Intentional Shaping & Nesting Forms 

• In part 3, we will focus on making intentional shapes by replicating forms, throwing the same form more than once, and learn about measuring your forms throughout the process to create nesting and near-identical sets. 

We will be using 112 Brown stoneware for all of these sessions. Students will not keep any of the work made as we will be dissecting the completed forms for learning purposes.
